Vista RC1: Where's the Windows Mobile Device Center?
Apparenly Vista beta 2 had a nice feature that is supposed to take the place of ActiveSync: the Windows Mobile Device Center. Daniel Moth wrote a few posts about it in the past (here and here), but in RC 1 it’s gone - of course Daniel works for Microsoft these days, so he might not even be aware that the program is not available to us ordinary Vista users :-)
The good news is it’s pretty easy to get the application back. These instructions detail how a registry key has to be created to make Vista find an update all of a sudden that contains the Windows Mobile Device Center. Great – and it works just fine with my i-mate SP5, so I’m not complaining.

Hey, I am very much aware :-)

In the next few days, expect to see a public supported version that also supports WM2003...
PS. Your security code (when it decides to render) is very tough!

Daniel - I've just tried my security code, and it renders every time for me... I also don't think it's usually too tough, but of course it changes all the time. If you get a particulary tough one that you think is too hard to read, please send me a screenshot, as it's possible that I can tune something to make sure that particular problem goes away. A reload (Ctrl+F5 in IE, or Shift+F5 in Firefox) should get you a new code. Anything else you can tell me about that "doesn't render at all" incident?
